It brought back my bad memories! I'm glad to see the Visa eventually granted for this young lady's mother, but this kind of tragedy happens in Canada from time to time.
One of our countrymen (my marriage-related immigrant) was diagnosed with cancer. All family members are living in Canada or the US except one was living in China at the time. The Beijing Embassy rejected his Visa to see his short-lived father in Canada. The doctor wrote a letter for the visa, and then the local MP's office wrote a letter for the visa. Both unsuccessful. The nurse called the embassy and the explanation from the Embassy was that it could not guarantee he would leave Canada after visiting his ailing father because all of his family was in Canada. The nurse said to the devastated family, "What a shame this country ".
No visa was issued and only one child wasn't beside his sick bed when this immigrant passed away.
Don't you guys know that before the pandemic, anyone who applied travel visa to North America always be suggested to apply for a US visa first and then apply for Canada's? Because the visa to visit Canada is harder to get than a US visiting visa.
Of course, some visas are easy to get to enter Canada. What is the easiest visa you can get for entering Canada? It is an immigration visa. For all other visas, you had better have a prepared mind for the ridiculous outcomes.
