If...
There are no injuries
Damage is less than $1000
Vehicles can be safely driven
Then...
Move vehicles off the roadway to allow traffic to pass, if and when it is safe to do so.
Exchange and write down the following information about the other driver(s) involved:
Name
Address
Home, work and cell phone numbers
Description and licence plate(s) of all vehicles involved
Insurance company and policy number
Ask witnesses for their names, addresses and phone numbers.
Drive to the nearest Collision Reporting Centre as soon as possible, or when directed by the police.
In cases where there is reason to believe the accident involves drinking and driving, a hit and run, or injuries have occurred, police should be advised immediately.
Remember: police reports are not required for traffic accidents in which there is damage that is under $1000.
