Of course, you can proudly boast to tell your friends you own a mansion on Toronto xxxx street, you bought it $335 in 2005, now it's worth $1.27 M (2022 peak). You can hardly tell your friends you own xxx OZ gold and you bought it in 2005 @ $600/OZ. Now it is worth $....
Some may still argue that you can leverage RE investment with a relatively lower rate. But you can also use your gold as collateral to borrow money to buy more gold.
