can't afford it in your community, too expensive.

It depends.If the house is more expensive,it's essentially because of the higher land value for its location.But it's an investment that you can get back by selling the house for a higher price in the future. Besides,if you work nearby, you can walk or bike to work. You save a car, gas, car insurance,etc. You won't get stuck in trafic and you won't have to worry about travelling from east to west for fear of sunset blurring your eyes(I'm kidding based on a post you may remember).Further more, you are close to every thing, including Chinese school.It's more convenient.To put it in a nutshell, you have to balance pros and cons and it's a personal choice.

我看有好几家在地下室开了个侧门,可以直接通地下室,有一家好像整个房子都租给了学生.作walk out要看地形,不是都可以做的, 有几家是这样的.但是,要是为了出租,我宁愿买个小的.
你从东转到西,怎么这么大的跨度?:lookaroun

能开侧门的那都是大lot了，Thames就又不够格了:zany:
买个小的还把什么空间可租给别人啊 象俺家现在这小房子，老老小小到齐了，就住得满当当了

你误解了,我是说如果想买个大的,但钱上有困难,需要出租,那还不如买个小的自己住了.

那你会不会拒绝涨工资,因为你要交更高的所得税呢?
家具不买也可以吗,直接睡在地板上就好了.
从你关于取暖的贴子来看,我的房子more efficient,虽然我的房子5面都散热,跟你的town house差不多吗.:smoke:

我感觉也很奇怪,觉得怎么也得上200.等这个月的帐单来了后再下结论.

有一种付帐的方式是, 他们给你估一个平均数, 冬天收的比实际用的少, 夏天收的比用的多 , 年底时再多退少补.

反正我上个月用了250立方米. 这个应该比钱准确.
