I suppose that you must be new to north american - cars do not appreciate in values. After you bought it, it would depreciate at least by 10% (before tax value) if you want to sell it right away.

There are average value for cars and you can ask for anything, but people can always buy from the deals who will follow the market value.

Have a look at the Chrysler webpage http://www.daimlerchrysler.ca/CA/04/EN/CHRYSLER/1,,CA-04-EN-CHRYSLER-BRANDASSISTANCE,.html and check on the trade in value for the cars.

The trade in (blackbook) value for your 2001 celica is between Low: $13,813.00 High: $15,088.00, but you are asking way over the market value of the car. I am not sure if anyone would be interested in buying it anything close to your asking price. I had seen someone selling a 2001 Corolla for 18,000$.

if it is gts, then the price does go up to about 18-19k depending on the condition of the car. However the value of sports cars does not hold as well as family cars - they are high in insurance, and prone to accidents and high in repair costs.

卖车就要去AUTOTRADER上查查大体的价格，怎么能去TRADE-IN上查呢，那是个人卖给DEALER的价钱啊！AUTOTRADER上边01年的GTS一般在23，000-24，000左右，所以我感觉楼主的价钱还算公道。

车行的价钱和市场的价钱是有25% - 35 % 不同的。如果按你的算法，所有的DEALER 都不会有的钱赚的。 更何况 如果你 TREAD IN 的价钱不要忘记还要加15% 得税钱。 不过，我还是很赞同你的观点 。
