21-Jan-2004 Generally, this place has rather poor food at high prices (for the pizza at least) - quite a nice combination.
While others suggest the five cheese pizza with pesto I strongly recomend against it. A good pesto is based on fresh basil, good olive oil, parmesan cheese and pine nuts. The pesto at this restaurant is made from dried basil (!!!), an excess of cheap oil (likely of the canola variety), and a nut type that was definitely not the pine variety. As a result of this lovely combination the pizza that arrived at our door (after an hour and fifteen minutes) was so greasy it was dripping through the box and saturated one's plate with oil.

15-Jan-2004 From the conflicting reviews, it sounds here like some have a vested interest or Favorita-ism, which sways my perception of this place to be on the side of the less favorable. Sorry Nick.. whoever you are.

16-Aug-2003 I've never eaten in the restaurant, but we order pizza from here exclusively ever since we discovered it. Try the Five Cheeses with Red Onion, Tomato and Pesto. Mmmm! Don't forget to order it thin crust!

13-Aug-2003 I'm sorry but this place has really gone down hill. The pizza was average at best and the place itself is reminiscent of a 1970's restaurant. I still can't figure out what that smell was. If you want the real Favorita go to Preston because this one is no longer what it used to be. FASPO

01-Apr-2003 You cannot go wrong here. There is something for everyone. Nick is a great host and puts on a good spread. I have been coming here for many years and there is still more new food for me to try. Where else can you get homemade soups, multiple salads and a wide variety of italian dishes for lunch. FAS O

23-Jul-2002 Nick is the most gracious host in Ottawa. His food is beyond belief. He has taken the lowly pizza and made it "nouvelle cuisine". Bravo Nick! FASPO

08-Apr-2002 Junk status. Owner talks too much (very judgmental) and interviews customers. Noisy, cold and unclean. You will be charged $1.79+tax for a very small glass of soft drink (20% soft drink, 80% ice)extra for refill. You should be ready for a lot of grease. Avoid sea food, it stinks.

19-Aug-2001 This is the REAL Favorita! Not the one on Preston Street. This is a great restaurant, excellent food, exquisite service and charming atmosphere. And the owner is a really nice guy!
