Petition for Equal Tuition for All Fields of Engineering
Did you know that, as an International Student,
depending on what field of engineering you choose to enter, your tuition will be over $1000.00CDN more. That is, if you choose to be in anything else but Civil Engineering your tuition is $13,785.30, but if you choose Civil Engineering your tuition is $12,665.30?
But if you are a Canadian Student, your tuition, regardless of what field you are in is $6,144.83?
Why the difference? Well, the business office says that there is a difference because students in all other fields of Engineering, except Civil, are paying for the lab facilities that we use as students.
Well, shouldn't we all pay the same difference regardless of what nationality we are since we all use the same lab facilities?
This petition is being created to attempt to get rid of this difference in tuition. Signatures will be collected and presented to the Dean of Students by a group of International Students.
