其实去年也没有什么集体优惠，最后还是那个在中文报上做广告的那家最便宜，如果你的房子不太老，那找他就可以，我去年也想装，但是他说我的房子不太好装，我们谈了价钱，他可能是觉得挣少了，后来居然没有按预约的日期来装，不过后来天气也凉快了，我也就没再找他。有人叫他装的，有的说好，也有说不太好。说不好的主要是安装时需要改造的人家。如果房子新可能就没事。

现在去SEARS看看，正有preseason special offer,广告上说是省400块，到3月13日结束，不过我也不知道原价如何，所以也想去看看。

Made a few phone calls this morning and the following is what I got so far,

1. Trane, 723-4700.

They can't give offer through the phone. Tomorrow someone will come over to see my house and make offer.

2. Keeprite, 237-3232

a. 2.5tons, SEER 10, Warranty 5 yrs on compressor/ 5yrs on parts

$1650 including GST.

b. 2.5tons, SEER, warranty 10yrs on compressor/ 10 yrs on parts.
Puron - new technology

$1950 including GST.

This is the best price I got.

3. Lennox Armstrong, 746-7000

a. 2.5tons, SEER 12,warranty 10yrs on compressor / 5 yrs on parts
New Puron technology, $ 2576 +GST

b. above 2 condition with old technology, $2000.

4. Sears, Carlingwood Mall

They will have somebody to call me back to make offer.

I will continue to work on it because I have to have it installed in this spring.

After I get offer from Trane and Sears, more info will be shared with you guys.

要注意，我也刚刚谈了keeprite的deal. 最好到他们的网站上去查一下分销商的联系方式。我签的deal是10年压缩机，5年parts and labour waranty. 2 ton的1765 包税，我要得是中档的，还有更便宜的。去年找那个中文报纸上的来评估，他说我家只有3根线，不够装空调的，要加线就要给房子打通什么的，而且要加很多钱。今年一查，他不是keeprite分销商列表中的，所以好像不太专业，今年的人来评估也说少线，但是不用打洞，他们有办法，而且没加什么钱。我暗自庆幸亏去年没装。

听说SEARS卖的KENMORE与keeprite是一样的东西，只是贴了不同的标签。我买的这款，sears的人来说要2400，还是特价。所以就算了。

To continue my research, Trane's Home Comfort Advisor came over to my house to give me an estimation. Too expensive.

a. 2.5ton, SEER 11.5, Warranty 10yrs compressor/ 10yrs parts
$3028 including tax

b. 2.5ton, SEER 15, Warranty 10yrs/ 10yrs
NON- Freon, new technology, $4087 including tax.

Meantime Sears called me back and give me an offer something like,

a. 2.5ton, SEER 12, new fridgerant , $2576 +7% GST, Warranty 10yrs
compressor/ 5yrs parts

b. If old refridgerant, price is around $2000+GST.

That's after the $400 discount.


To compare Trane, Sears, Lennox and Keeprite, maybe I will go back to Keeprite. They make the best offer in the market right now.


By the way, Fatty, may I ask how big is your house? 2ton is enough? My house is 2300SF, do you think we should choose 2.5tons?

My House is about 1800 SF. Since my main floor is in 2nd floor, so keeprite people said even 1.5 ton should be fine. He said they usually calculate main floor and upper level area. So if we calculate my house like his way, it will be only 1400-1500 SF. But I still asked for 2 ton. You should talk to a keeprite person. I don't know if there will be a big price difference between 2.0 ton and 2.5 ton.

I'm not sure, but that's certainly a question that you should ask the AC salesperson.
