对中学择校有感

看到大家买房子租房子都必须考虑择校,真是可怜天下父母心啊.

不过任何事都不能过度.BLEBE,NEPEAN或者LISGAR,都是好学校.里面再分出个高下来,我认为对孩子的成长没有太大意义.

我朋友里,为了孩子上LISGAR,苦守在当烫好几年,孩子是上了名高中,最后毕业进了Carleton. 这有意义吗?如果不是上Harvard, Stanford,只读个OU, CU之类的,上哪个高中,有什么所谓.

附：OU/CU的在读朋友看了不要过敏，这是写给学生家长看的．

No, the universities may give a different weight for different high school when they decide to accept a student.

By the way, I heard that somebody lined up at 6:00pm for next day to submit a High school crossboundary transfer form to Lisgar CI on Feb 1st.

That's not a bad idea if you are not buying house in Downtown and just can not stand your kid not going Lisgar.

Mind you, a student with average marks from Lisgar won't get better chance to be considered than a top graduated from Woodraff High by universities like U of Waterloo.:smokin:
