um...good to know...I am only landed immigrant, not a Canadian passport holder...so it won't work for me...thanks any way

去年年底，我向日本驻北京大使馆申请3天的过境签证，护照上已经帖了加拿大的移民签证，而且机票都是在日本买好的，还是活生生地给拒绝了，材料都没让递进去。后来只好申请访友签证，却给签了90天的visa，真是让人哭笑不得。
所以，你要打电话到日本大使馆确认一下，而且要多打几次，不同的接线员回答得有出入，最好还是去大使馆问。

在这里移民签日本的14天过境签证简单之极，如果是3天的过境签证，在日本机场申请也会给的，只是不太保险。

我前年夏天回国玩，从中国出发在日本东京我朋友那里玩了三天再回渥太华的。我申请过境签证具体的操作程序是这样的，首先你订机票时预留好三天的停留时间，就是你到达日本的时间到你离开日本的飞机起飞时间的间隔等于或小于72小时。然后到达东京机场后，在过海关的时候直接向海关官员说你要申请72小时的过境签证，并出示你的机票和你在东京的联系人的地址（可以是你预定的东京的酒店地址或者是你朋友亲戚在东京的地址）。 然后她会指引你到旁边专门申请签证的柜台， 让你填写一份申请表， 上面留下你在东京的联系地址。然后就可以凭此申请表再到海关，海关官员就会马上给你盖个过境签证章在你护照上上面会标明你离境的时间， 精确到分钟。我上次就是因为订票时从到达东京机场与离开日本的飞机起飞时间相差了75个小时，害得我在成田机场的海关那里整整坐了将近3个小时， 才让我去海关那里盖过境签证章， 以保证我入境到出境的时间限制在72小时内。 海关那里什么东西都没有， 那3个小时害的我坐在沙发上只能左顾右盼观察过往旅客，巨无聊， 接我机的朋友却已经在候机厅里看完了整整一部电影。不过地勤小姐的态度还不错， 其中一个长得很漂亮的居然说一口流利的英语，真是让我大为惊讶， 因为大部分的地勤小姐的英语口语都不行，口音很重， 听力倒还普遍不错。

If you are a CHinese citizen and have a connection in Narita airport, you can apply for an entry permit for 3 days when you arrive. There is no gaurantee you can get it but in most cases, you will.
