那合用rogers用什么?用wireless router吗?




我也是用有线的Router呀... (这个问题上跟有线无线没关系,用Rogers + 有线Router根本不用设置,但是Sympatico DSL由于要拨入,有用户名和密码,所以必须得设置Router)

只要不是白痴就会设置.
而且只用弄一次,以后都自动

话不用说这么满吧??很多老年人,还有相当数量的对电脑从来不熟悉的人士,对他们来说就是增加一个很大的麻烦。

Question: Why does Sympatico block all SMTP servers except its own? (Port 25 blocking) (#8457)

Answer: Sympatico blocks all traffic (incoming and outgoing) through port 25, except for it's own SMTP servers. The main reason that Sympatico does this is to avoid being being blacklisted for spam (junk e-mail). Here's why:

If a Sympatico customer were to operate their own SMTP server, it is possible that it may be configured improperly with open-relaying enabled, and have spam relayed through it. In this situation, it appears that a Sympatico customer is sending the spam. So Sympatico avoids this situation by ensuring that no customer can operate their own SMTP server, and blocking port 25 effectively does just that.

One of the disadvantages of this arrangement is that it also prevents the use of any SMTP server other than the ones that Sympatico provides. So if you have a third-party e-mail provider, you will not be able to send outgoing mail through their SMTP server. You must use a Sympatico SMTP server. Your outgoing mail will still appear with whatever e-mail address you wish, even if it is not a Sympatico e-mail address.

Another disadvantage is that it prevents a Sympatico customer from running their own incoming SMTP e-mail server.

Please note that port 25 blocking does not affect incoming email through POP3 servers, which do not use port 25. You are free to use whatever POP3 provider you wish.



用他们的SMTP,又用自己的email地址,能防止用户发SPAM,还是为了更方便的监视用户的outgoing mail?

更好的办法可能根据流量和SPAM filter来检查.
不能用用户自己的SMTP不是什么好办法

更严重同意!我的3个月FREE安了整整10天,无数的技术服务人员(服务电话)都推卸责任,不是让再等等就是让问BELL的电话问题,最后谎言一个个被揭穿(都让人好笑),最后让sympatico的最后一个技服人员一语解决(98系统另种安法).10天呀,我还得花钱,shit.

打电话去billing dept,说你由于他们的技术问题十天无法用hi-speed,让他们给你credit

用他们的SMTP,又用自己的email地址,能防止用户发SPAM,还是为了更方便的监视用户的outgoing mail?

Outgoing的话,可以借YahooPops或是Hotmail转发出去。

Sympatico的Personal Web支持cgi什么的话,装/写一个smtp-relay什么的也行。

好像有点跑题呀,最想知道到底有人拿了这个优惠没有,我们也接到同样得电话,就是不知道是不是真得,为什么cfc上写得不一样呀。
