初次写research essay，很多地方不太明白。

Find a scholarly article related to your topic.
1. Provide a complete bibliographic citation
2. Give the source in which you found the article(name of the online database, periodical index, or bibliography)
3. Demonstrate the scholarly nature of the article (list criteria met which guarantee that it is reliable)

请帮忙详细解释一下上面的，特别是第三个，不太明白。需要我做什么？怎么做啊？谢谢！

Hint 3:

The credibility of an article is based on several factors. 1st, you need something that proves the source is high quality. This can be determined by the publisher name, quality of other publications etc. 2nd, you can look at the author's biography. The author's background is an indicator, as is other publishing. For example, if he/she has written copiously on the topic, than it is most likely that he/she is an expert. 3rd, examine the content of the article. Does the author write without bias? Does the author presents all views, not just certain facts that would cause a misintrepretation? Is the authors writings consistent, does the introduction mathc the conclusion? Finally, check the reference list? How many references? ARe they also of high quality?

Hint 3:

谢谢你说了那么多。我的topic是分析一个作者的著作，还是那种不怎么起眼的拉。所以我的source都是她的文章，short story拉什么的。我都是从学校图书馆借来的。不存在什么评论性的东西。我就不太明白我有什么需要去证明这些source的可信性。就是一般的书集，故事集的。哎，我给Prof.发email了，可是到现在都没回我。这些老师在周末都不查邮件阿？我星期一就要交了。。。

你是不是我们上次第一次做讨论时一起的那个女孩啊？我也不是很明白，今天晚上再问问同学。 你的paper 开始写了吗？ 我不知道怎么开始野。 头痛~~~~~~~

是还有韩国女生的那个组么？呵呵。
我的paper我刚刚写完。哎。我就挑了个分析文章的那个。以为比较好写。就胡乱选了个人，然后去图书馆把她的书都借回来了。结果今天写的时候才发现，原来这个女人很negative的，经历很惨。很小的时候就因为受不了家庭的过分管制离家出走，为了生活去当妓女。她的文章不是说妓女就是情妇。我都晕死了。。。就算她写得再好，可是题材也太。。。了吧。哎。可是也没办法了，我就硬是胡写了一通，希望老师不会觉得我这个人有问题，那么多人不选，偏偏选这么一个有个性的女人。嘿嘿。:zany:

我选了midwife 那个， 因为我室友的朋友是做midwife的。 可以拿点资料嘛。加上又是 conparison and contrast， 感觉好写点。 但是5，6 页，想起来都觉得害怕阿。 嗯~~~~~ 对了，还有，我叫 Mavis ， 不知道你上次记住没。 嘻嘻~~~~
