Write a letter stating that you are inviting your mum for a visit. Then go to the law clinic of the University for signature and stamp (free). Remember to include as much information about yourself as possible in the letter, such as your student number, your program ect.

I think you also need a proof of your student status. Some department will give you the proof (go to the administration office of your department for info). If not, you need to go to the info service for the proof(possibly not free)

....and what else...well, photocopy of your passport, visa....anyway, go to the canadian embasssy website...there are detailed infomation there.
