从美国邮寄笔记本电脑到加拿大,要交多少关税?请教有经验的朋友,谢谢。
I only know when I buy stuff (computer stuff) from US, the max I was charged is GST 8%.最初由 I really know 发布
是只交GST吗,就是说只需要交7%~8%,是吗?
One more thing if your shipper (like DHL or Fedex), they may also charge a "Tarrif Handling Fee" (not the shipping fee) Sometime, this can be 30-40 dollars.最初由 阿童木 发布

(1) Now if you ask your friend to declare it as "a gift", then sometime they do NOT even charge GST (It is your luck, NOT always)
(2) If you are a visitor here in Canada, you can even get GST back, just go to postal office for a form called "RC4031 Tax Refund for Visitors to Canada" http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pub/tg/rc4031/README.html

No, I bought a laptop in Feb 2003 and shipped by Fedex, I was charged 15% tax + plus a Custom clearance fee about CAD 60-70.
You can call Custom and Revenue Canada about the tax rate for importing computer from U.S., it is 15% in Ontario.
Hmmm.... The address thing may be the catch here. I did always prefix my company name even it is my home address unintentionally. And that may explain it.最初由 dding 发布
1. The laptop is shipped by my friend (bought from Circuit City), I was charged 15% tax, CCRA told me if my mailing address is a residential address, it is 15%, if it is a business address, it is 7% only.
