"Sad Story.... Please WEAR GLASSES !!!!"
Hi all,
Please were glasses and BE CAREFUL CASTING THOSE LURES !
A friend was fishing up north of sudbury for 4 days last week... Having a great weekend catching lots of fish...It was the end of the trip and the classic " last few casts was called" ... when one of his buddies attempted to cast , his bail shut during the throw thus making the rapala fly around and lodge one of the hooks in my friends eye !!
THey had to rush to shore and get and ambulance to drive 2 hours to the closest hospital...From there none of the doctors would touch his eye and had him air lifted to pearson airport in toronto where he was brought to an area hospital for operation... After a couple succesfull opertations they confirmed that he will see from his eye again just as of now it is very blurry and sore from operations....They said only time will tell how the eye will heal...
THey also mentioned if the hook went 1mm to the left he would of lost his site in that eye forever...
I always wear glasses while fishing but this just makes me NEVER forget to bring them !!
Please be careful all !!
