试论某某会馆之小气与狭隘[闲聊]

Interesting discussions. I understand that organizers of this event may face some difficulties and financial challenges, but as leaders of Chinese community in Ottawa, you should take these challenges as you knew when you were campaigning for the positions. As most people realized in the discussion, $5 is not a big deal for anybody. However, the way of organizing this event is worthwhile to discuss. I have specific questions for organizers:
1. How do you spend $5 for food? You may say to buy more food. Now you are facing more challenges here. How much food will you buy? I assume at this point of the game, you don't know how many people will attend and how many persons who don't bring their own food. If you don't know how many people will come, how much food can you decide to buy? If the money is not used for food, where do you spend?
2. How do you spend $5 for ride? Reimburse drivers? I don't thing it's a good idea. Personally, I feel strange to receive $5 for every rider with me. I will be more than happy to offer free ride to anybody. I am sure most drivers share this with me.
3. If you use food and transportation money for something else, such as prizes, it is not fare to everybody because the money is collected for one thing and you use it for the other.
Suggestions:
1. Encourage donations to cover expenses for this event.
2. Encourage more drivers offer free ride for those who need it and everybody bring their own food. I know there are a lot of works for thses, but as event organizers, you should know these challenges even before you organize.
3. As individual participants, we should encourage organizers to do good job and help it out as we can. Don't attack each other.

由于会馆还没有完成交接, 财务及行政具体情况不便公布. 但是我得到新任中华会馆黄兴中主席的同意,对于会馆最为争议的财务问题, 我在这里澄清几点:
1.中华会馆没有任何政府机构的Funding, 早年的中华会馆是有的,但是某种原因, 很多届以前中华会馆已经没有Funding了.
2.本届中华会馆没有接受任何组织和其他国家政府部门的Funding, 在本届任期内也不会接受.
3.会馆的charity number由于某些原因在前几届就被取消, 我们正在计划争取新的charity number. Charity Number 是捐款者退税的唯一方法.
4.会馆的所有理事都是志愿者, 没有任何工资和补助.
5.会馆的交接步履艰难, 现在还在等待财务和加华侨报的交接.
非常高兴看到大家对会馆的批评和建议, 也感谢大家对中华会馆的支持,无论是批评还是赞扬都表明大家对会馆的关注,正是这种关注使得我们在今后的活动中能够做得更好.考虑到大家的建议和要求, 我们正在尽力争取一些商家的赞助,以提供本次活动的经费.同时取消所有费用,欢迎各位同胞参加本次活动.
