小心驶得万年船,据说1/5的司机一生中要出至少一次严重事故(定义为重伤和死亡),最近两年里,俺在这边就有一个亲戚和一个过去同学先后出车祸而去了. 那亲戚才30来岁,刚拿个学位,一高兴回北京看爹娘,回来太累翻了车,就没了,挺可惜.

You can try "plait guilty with explanation". I belieave there is such a choice at the back of the ticket.

You wil be request to show up at a court and explanation why you parked there. If the judge thinks that you have some ground, your ticket may be waived or reduced. Reasons can include something like dropping an old lady.

It does hurt to try. The worst is that the judge refuse your explanation and you pay the whole amount. You just several hours at the court house.
