[问题] 给车子做防锈有用吗？

我的车情况时：04新车不到一万公里，打算开一年就买，听说做防锈很有必要，想问问我这种情况应该作一次呢，还是终身的？车行给我的终身防锈的价格是$550，合适吗？只做一次要多少钱，每年都要做吗？？

Save the money, most new car comes with few years of warranty against corrosion - rust.

One time cost for oil spray is approximated $70, but like I said, I don't think you need rust proof if you plan to sell the car in a year.

if you want to keep this car for long time, you'd better do it even though it is new one

新车完全没必要。

Even for a brand new car you should get rust-proof. Yes the new car has 4-5 year waranty, but that's only if your car is rusted so bad that you get a hole on it! Normally without rust prrof, the rust starts in a year underneath the car. It wouldn't do any damage, and you won't see it. But 5 years later, as soon as the rust perforation waranty expires, you see thing falling apart.
Trust me, just do it! I got a new car in 1996. I tried to save some money by not paying for treatment. But in 2000, I had to pay for the following:
The computer of the car was rusted - paid $875 to replace
Muffler was rusted; - paid $450 to replace
Rusted door panels and wheel wells - paid $1200 for body work.

这个我就不同意了。
1。COMPUTER和MUFFLER跟你做不做防锈没关系。你就是做了防锈MUFFLER一样要锈，这里是加拿大。没人会把防锈材料望MUFFLER上喷。COMPUTER RUSTED应该是氧化。你敢把防锈剂网COMPUTER上喷吗？
2。Rusted door panels如果你做了防锈会好点，wheel wells做防锈 的时候没人会把防锈材料望那里弄。
新车一般都有5年以上的CORROSION WANRRANTY。你看看你的WARRANTY过了吗？
而且楼主开1年就卖。
防锈处理就是把底盘喷上一层UNDERCOATING，然后再润滑各种铰链什么的，有的还在发动机舱一圈喷上点油。
对于发热的地方，如MUFFLER 和PIPE等不会对他们进行处理，另外对车身油漆的地方也不会处理。

Wrong.
I am getting rust proof every year now. They do spay on muffler and pipe, and lots lots of gels in the wheel wells! They also open the hood, and spay under the hood, around the engine, and all visible pieces of metals.
I think it depends on where you get the rust prrof service, and how much you pay.

I got the service from Ziebart Vitro Plus during the past 2 years. You should be able to find the address and phone number from the yellow page.

It costed me $69.95+tax. Very thorough spray. One disadventage: They spray too much, the gel sometimes drips down around your car's body (door panels, trunk), so you will have to clean it up or your car will look dirty.

I heard that metropolitain is very good too. I am going there this year.

Don't use small garages. They give you a cheaper price but they normally have no quality control. Big places, like Metropolitain for example, like to keep their good reputation. I complained once and they immediately provided me one free rust-proof treatment. I think they charge $89. Even you want to do it, do it right. Don't try to save small money and then regret.

Normally one-year treatment costs between $60 to $100. 5 year treatment costs between $400 to $600.
