1/2 HP is enough for a 2 car garage door. Noise, chain/cable drive, infrared-beam safety sensors, remotes and perhaps a outdoor keypad for vacation lock are all factors in selecting a garage door opener.
I did both. Installing a garage opener is easier than 油烟机. For 油烟机, you need the right size pipe leading to outside or you have to have a converter/adapter.
