the report is comprehensive and yet in details

I read through the entire release. every single story. The report is comprehensive, and to my surprise, some have gone much in detail. Besides the positive side of "Rise Of China", it also reported many problems that China has been facing along its growth. For example, one of them is the corrupted politic system. In its business section. it clearly mentioned that 55% of business in China had to bribe local government officials to get thing done, according to World Bank's survey 1998.

What World Bank and Canadian reporters did not know is the corrupted politic system was much worse that it has appeared. In China, as most people has awared of, the corruption has become systematic. I personally believed that the rest 45% who had not bribed, must had some sort of relationships with corrupted officials, or simply did not admit that they had bribed too. "guanxi" has been mentioned in the report several times. Funny erh? Even Canadian reporters heard and reported this shameful and unlawful word. From the context of the report, however, it seems that the reporter as well as the editor did not understand "guanxi". They simply treated it as a key to success in China, which actaully is a hit.

Over all, the report praised the success of the great transform of China. It encouraged Canadians to learn more about China, and urged Canadian business to jump onto the train of China's development. You can treat this report as a wake-up call for all Canadian business.

At last, I bet you the Chinese media will blow whistles, hard! they will, of course, only tell poor Chinese the positive part of the report; they will hide the negative part. I can bet with you about this. the media in China is not trustworthy at all. as a Chinese, I can not trust our own media....sigh....
