政府员工的工资

前一段时间，政府员工罢工，原来以为他们工资很低，刚看到一个连接，发现原来他们现在的工资比私营企业还高，这还不算各种福利和培训，以及工作的稳定性。

the chart is for computer science job only, so do not compare it with other jobs in the field.

CS-3 and up are for project leaders. how much can a PL earn in proviate sector?
benifit? public servant has to pay 40% deductable and provate employees pay 0%.
the only good thing is job secure and easy.
right now everybody is talking about being in government is good. where are they 3 years ago? no one even bothered to join the government.

You have to wait a lot of years before you can get the big numbers in your payroll. The best thing working for the government is job security. Of course, it is good if you do want an easy going life. You can certainly have a comfortable life working in the public sector. But you get more chances working in the private sector. It is only a personal choice. It all depends on what you really like and want.

I do not know about the CS category. But generally should be a senior manager or a Director General of a branch with quite a lot experience in the government.

It is not fair to compare private workers against ps. as far as I can see, most (if not all) PSs work much less than private workers. in private sector, empolyees often work over hours, while PSs mostly work 4 days a week or even LESS! Considering private workers are the ones who generate the wealth of Canada, private workers should be making much more than PSs do. However, what we see here is exactly opposite. And, the same happens to job securities. In the government, there is just no way to kick you out once you are in. when a personal being transferred to another department, it means he is fired from his previous department! So it is totally insane that the PS union started the strike early time! All of my friends and I were against that strik. Funny though, some of them were PSs. Sooner or later, unions will screw themselves up.

CS-5 whole industry canada only has 1 person, whole NRC only have 2. And they are still below 110K, normally SC-3 is already management level and most of them have to be a Bilingualism, if u look at CO, TO, AD, those positions are still much less pay than the private sector. and job security is not much better than private sector, there are many lay off and budget cutting too.

I think u dont really know about the PS and regulation of government employment, most of ur comments are not really a truth!
give u some true comments
1) they have to work for 37.5 hrs every week ( not as u said 32 or less)
2) one real example, three mouths ago, Industry Canada was laid off 11 SC positions,meas they lost the job!( not transfer as u said)
3) PS union on strik is not all the PS workers wanted, it was a stupid game between the Union and government, government already agree increase salay for 6.9%, but Union wants 8%, what is the big difference all the PS workers get into their pocket after the Tax? but u can see clearly that Union will gets more money from pay cheque of PS workers !

and once again, all the PS workers are still employees same as u, and they make money for living and also pay the same tax as u!
BTW, I own private company not a PS worker

政府有钱啊，去年又剩下好多钱没处花，好几次了，电视上那帮小官都在反思呢~
