I guess it depends on where the camera is made. I bought mine from NY state, it was made in Japan, and I paid duty for it, a little bit less than GST and PST combined.

but is that duty included? i mean if you buy something from a store and it is not made locally, you will have to pay the duty?

If you really want order from an US dealer, go check the feedbacks or rating from the customers. Some of them are really bad. IMO, don't use those with the lowest prices, instead, try to find some decent, reputable online dealers who have good customer feedbacks.
