Does anyone know that is an ".3ds" file?

Hi today I came cross an interesting file, it is suppose to be a 3d model of a tank, however, i was unable to open it with the 3ds max software that i have (this software works with files that ends with .max) does anyone know how i might open a .3ds file, or how to edit a .3ds file please reply, thanks.

You need to check its head identity characters with any hex editor.

3ds好像是3D studio binary文件,用3dmax应该可以打开的. 具体怎么回事我也不知道了.
