你不要误导人好不好
timing belt要是真断了就不是能不能修的问题了 - 你得到的结果就是所有的valve都弯了,broken pistons, seized pistons etc etc. 准本换发动机吧
一个道理。
and a timing belt is >50$
and NOT a large portion. just ur cross member, front belts, timing belt cover.
1. A broken timing belt doesn't necessarily kill a car. That depends on your engine design. You could get the information from the manufacturer. Newer models have taken into the consideration of that.
2. You can't be serious to expect someone having difficulty to change coolent to replace the timing belt by himself. That's really comparing apples to oranges.
3. To replace my timing belt, the repair manual says:
1) Relase the alternator mounting and adjuster link bolts, push the alternator in towards the engine and remove the drivebelt. Unbolt and remove the pullety from the water pump. Using a ring spanner on the crankshaft pulley bolt, set the location pin on the crankshaft sprocket opposite to the TDC mark on the belt cover with No. 1 piston at TDC on its compression stroke. This can be checked by observing that the contact end of the distributor rotor arm is opposite the No 1 HT lead segment in the distributor cap.
2)Unbolt and remove the timing belt cover.
3. Release the belt tensioner pinch bolt, followed by the tensioner pivot mounting bolt. Lever the tensioner towards the water pump and retighten the bolts. This will have removed tension from the belt.
4) Slide the toothed belt from the camshaft pulley.
5)Remove the four small bolts from the crankshaft pulley. If the centre bolt is held while the small ones are unscrewed, the setting of the TDC mark will not be altered.
6)Pull of the pulley, remove the timing belt from the crankshaft sprocket. If it is to be used again, mark it with regard to the direction of running so that it can be refitted the correct way round; also as to tooth alignment with the sprockets.
7)For inspection details of the timing belt and sprockets refer to Part D of this chapter.
8)Before fitting the belt, make sure that the crackshaft ahs not been moved from its TDC setting. To check this, observe that the sprocket roll pin aligns with the projection on the front casing. If by and chance, the crackshaft sprocket has been taken off, make sure that the belt flange which goes behind it has it covex face against the sprocket.
9)Check that the timing mark on the camshaft sprocket is in alignment with the mark on the cylinder head.
10)Fit the timing belt, making sure that the tension side of the belt is taut between sprockets.
11) Refit the crankshaft pulley.
12) Release the tensioner bolts to allow it to move and to apply tension to the belt. Tighten the tensioner pinch bolt followed by the pivot bolt, to the specified torque.
13) Using the spanner on the crackshaft pulley centre bolt, turn the crackshaft through one complete turn(360) and realign the TDC marks.
14)Release the tensioner pivot and pinch bolts in that order and then retighten them in the reverse order. The belt should no be correctly tensioned.
15)Refit the timing belt cover and the water pump pulley. Fit and adjust the drivebelt, by referring to Section 17.
I don't know you. I wouldn't compare this to replacing the coolant.
4. On my manual, there's no mention of replace new radiator cap or radiator drain tap. It only says:"refit the radiator cap, and tighten the radiator drain tap"
5. You may get 4L coolant from walmart under $10. The timing belt could be bought from canadian tire/walmart and several junk yards in town. I got mine from Ebay, $9.99 USD plus shipping. If you paid $50 for it, I would laugh on that. well..
