I agree for the most part. Those accidents were much more severe and worse than anything that I have seen either in person on in the media. Completely unthinkable, actually. BUT, were they caused by vehicle-vehicle collision, and if so, what heppened to the other vehicles?
People tend to say that Japanese cars are not safe enough, and I think that is an unfair statement. Note that I am definitely not a champion of JP cars. But much testing has been done and the conclusion really does not single out JP cars the (only) unsafe ones (and let's not forget that there are many makes of JP cars). Among others, Koreans and Germans also make unsafe cars. So, what I am trying to say is that we should not be too general in making a statement that JP cars are unsafe. No one has said the same thing about Lexus or Acura, right?
To be safe, we should at least drive defensively.
