gimme a break! I don't know much about Shanghai and Wuyu but
广州也在推普 over decades. No one in the world can get rid of Cantonese. The Cantonese Radio, TV program, HK culture(TV, movies) are all over the place. You will never ever find a person grown up in Guangzhou(even his/her parent are notherner) can not speak Cantonese.
