“中国新年”一词推敲

春节已过，关于海外华人过年的事，也不断出现在各种媒体上。
这里有个词，中国新年，既熟悉又陌生。在中国，过年又称春节，为与元旦区别，有人也把它叫作阴历(农历)年(注：过年一般默指春节，农历年一般不讲，阳历年倒是有很多人说)，但是没有人说中国新年，因为，在中国的土地上没有必要加中国二字，另一方面在中国事实上有两个新年，一是元旦，一是春节。所以中国新年与春节是有区别的，为统一起见，最好用一个统一的名词：春节。

在翻译时，英语里有两种：一是spring festival, 二是Chinese new year.也建议只用前者，因为春节是一个特别的日子，应该有个专用的词。

不成熟的考虑，说出来而已。同意的请顶，不同意请别骂。

国内有三个新年, 就是圣诞节, 元旦和春节

虽然圣诞节的名字不叫"新年", 但个人感觉其"平安夜"的气氛已经在元旦之上.

中西合历以前，元旦 春节 新年都是指旧历新年，现在说chinese new year 可能是怕别的人家不懂，我们自己不还说“农历年”嘛。

It's not very accurate since Chinese calendar is a 阴阳历, like the Jewish calendar.

No actually it tries to synchronize the lunar cycles with the natural rotation of the Earth.

There is an excellent website by a Singaporean on the mathematics of the Chinese calendar, very interesting.
