I would say CIC will only check RCMP's CPIC database. All inadmissible records are there and CIC is short of hand. Why would they bother with local police ? Also, when did the arrest happen ? Local police only keep incident report for 5 years.It is too late to change anything, worry won't help. So relax.

xiaomimi，你说的很对，我现在的处境确实就是你说的那样：递交申请之后发生的逮捕；没有取指纹没有起诉；CIC的表格上当然我也是写no arrest的。 希望CIC真的只跟rcmp check就好了，那样我想我就不担心了，呵呵。

I don't think you need to worry at all. I did a check at the immigration form. The question ask these:

Have you been convicted of,
or are you currently charged with,
or on trail for,
or party to a crime or offence,
or subjects of any criminal proceedings in any country?


All of these do not apply for your situation since police did not laid charge against you. Even if it is, the incident happened after the application form has been signed and mailed; therefore, you did not intend to deceive CIC. You can argue for this.

您分析的很有道理！不过棘手的是目前我要extend我的visa&study permit，申请表上面有这样的问题：committed,been arrested or charged with any offence in any country?我打算check off No.因为我想申请study permit跟visa都不要提取指纹的，受理机构应该不会那么多事地跟local police再做check了，这两个应该没移民申请那么严格地，我就算赌一把了！

Don't gambled for this; make an educated choice.

I would go to police station and ask for a record check, and see what is written in the record, and I would suggest you to go to seek legal advices from immigartion lawyers who have experience with this particular type of matter. Lawyers know the definination of the criminal codes. Besides, the first consultation is free.
