It is 20 years in Ontario. The property is protected by law if you have an Encroachment Agreement between the two parties. But make sure the Encroachment Agreement is renewed before it is expired.
Every house should have a survey, that's the only document indicating the boundaries of your lot.
Lawyer needs the survey to register the deed. You lawyer must have it, keep bugging her.
