Dear International Students:
Off-Campus Employment
Many of you have contacted me about the off-campus employment
announcement
made by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. In my last update, I
indicated
that there was yet to be a process in place to implement this program
and
that continues to be the case. Basically what needs to happen is the
following:
1. The signing of provincial agreements
2. Institutional Procedures for facilitating off-campus employment
3. Signing of institutional agreements
Given this, it is unlikely that this will take place before January,
although there is some talk that it could occur earlier. However, the
International Student Advisory will be directly involved in this
initiative and therefore, all information will be communicated to you
via
this list. It is not going to be a question of simply applying for a
Work
Permit and therefore, it is not advisable to send applications to CIC -
they won't process them. I know there is much anticipation but until
this
is in place, we'll just need to wait and see what happens. Again, I
will
continue to communicate via this list and as I know things, I will
inform
you.

对，是要先申请work permit的，肯定不是所有人都能批准。
BTW你去UniCenter 5楼去给他们说一下，给他们你的email就可以了，有很多有用的信息都是从那里发过来的。
