CT是不是Canadian Tire呢？ 是这周on sale 吗？ 看来先把它买下来。

我准备先从地下室动手，积累点经验再到楼上装。Obiwan，你都没有自己装过楼梯，估计我想都不用想了，肯定对我来说太困难了，555。

对了，去 Alexanian Carpet and Flooring 问了，最经济款的都要2.49/sq.ft(价格已经包括padding)，是8mm的，所以放弃了。

还不如Costco的合适。现在还是初步决定用homedepot的，7mm，而且仔细看过，感觉上已经很结实了。

It is not necessary to purchase the laminate with padding, you could always buy the padding separately. Padding is not that expensive. Have you looked at "End of the Roll" they seldom have some good deals.

I am not a professional, just that I installed floor a couple of times, that is all. I am sure you will do just fine.

刚刚打电话去"End of the Roll"问了一下，真的有比较好的deal。

1.26/sq.ft + free padding.

明天有时间过去看看，今天天太大了，不敢出门。

that's a good one, 10", from 199 to 99 with laser guide...one week before father's day week, I bought several hundred dollors worth of tools from CT

The nicest one is a hammer drill they have a table saw on sale that week, from 99 to 39..incredible

Just saw this thread and I can't help jumping in as I did exactly the same thing last winter. I bought my laminate from Ikea, it's cheap and the quality is not bad, I like the color too. Check them out.

As for power tools, I got both circular saw and jig saw total $100. You don't need to get the fancy name brand. Circular saw is used to do ripping and straight cross section cut. Jig saw is needed for corners/door jambs.

One tricky aspect is to level the sub floor. When I removed the carpet, I found that the sub floor in some rooms are not flat and I have to level it with leveling compound.

完工一个月了，今天找到时间把照片压缩，应该可以发上去了。

总共装了4间房，都用的是circular saw，出来的效果还满意。最关键的是要把laminate板子凹槽里边的小木削拿改刀或者什么掏干净，这样装的时候板子容易密合在一起。
