在哪儿啊?能说的具体一些么?
Between Alblon RD and Hawthorne RD,and also between Hunt Club RD and Johnston RD

I checked there too. Because it is close to downtown by car. I gave up later after checking other things.
1) If you take bus it still takes more than 45 min to downtown.
2) The elementary schools are very bad at about 2000 range in 2000s Ontario schools. Since in Canada the school grades reflect family more than school teacher. You can see the average family education level is below average.
3)Some streets are good. But more blocks are mixed with town homes and smaller houses. Even the houses have similar age as centrepointe but conditional are worse. So the people there do not take care them very well.

Thanks, Timothy.
May I ask your suggestion regarding which areas are good within Ottawa zones in terms of schools and living envirnmonts?
Thanks in advance.

Hunt Club Park is the area north to Hunt Club, between Hawthorne and Conroy.

The area between Conroy and Albion on the north side of Hunt Club is called Greenboro, and the south side is Upper Hunt Club.

The new development by Claridge and Richcraft alone Johnston is called Huntclub Enclave, which got problem of fundation in some of their Phase II's unites.

It is hard for me to answer this question. Because I don’t know how much money you like to spend and size and style of the home you like.
I like Centropinte but I can not afford house that I will like to live in. I try the other areas in Ottawa inside the green belt. But what I find is also disappointing. They either too expensive or too old or like hunt club park the school is not good or is close to some bad neighborhood.
After check with the elementary school grades, it looks like the schools in kanata general have better rank. With express bus, it takes about an hour to downtown. I looked some house in kanata and barheaven , I like kanata more. Because barheaven is developed later than kanata, the neighborhood is more dense and less green space.
At this moment Brildwood is the best place to buy a house. It is an established neighborhood. The schools are good. There are many houses for sale this year, most of them are new and the price is good.

1. It takes only 25 minutes from Greenboro to downtown at peak hours, since bus 84 can take you to downtown directly.

2. Dunlop (near Greenboro),is rated as top 10 elementary schools in Ottawa. The top ones are (school names, public schools only):

1). Devonshire
2). Woodroff Ave.
3). First Avenue
4). Pleasant Park
5). Mutchmor
6). Rockcliffe Park
7). Kanata
8). Dunlop
9). Knoxdale
10).Broadview Avenue

The above info is quoted form Report Card on Ontario's Elementary Schools, 2005 Ed, The Fraser Institute. It took me a while to do the research.

3. Every community has townhomes and small single houses, which is the design strategy by the City of Ottawa. There are all big single houses in Upper Hurt Club, a relative new developed area constructed by Minto.

Hunt club park is at east of Greenboro. You have to take another bus to Greenboro. I checked the octranspo travel planer, it shows me about 45min to downtown.
As you can see Hunt club park is not Greenboro. You can't go to Dunlop. Upper hunt club is not Hunt club park too. There are different neighborhood.

It depends.
Kids live in Upper Hunt Club, maybe east part of it, and Hunt Club Park, they have one of the best high school in Ottawa, Cranbury High, while student in Greenboro would have to go to Richmont High, which is not comparable.

Thanks you all three's reply.
I would like to ask one more question if by the chance any of you knows it?
My kid is Gifted, now I would like to send my kid to Lisgar high school, which area is the best areas to buy a house in order that my kid can go to the Gift program at Lisgar high school? My budget is around $300k.

BTW, my kid is going to be grade 7 in the coming Sept.
If you would like to call me, my home phone number is 599-4850.

Thanks very much for your precious information!!!

You can call school board ask them the school boundary. If you insist your kid goes to Lisgar you don't have too much choice but get a house in the area.
Bridlewood is good for you too. W.O.Michell has a gifted program to grade 8 after that you can go to bells corner.

Because it is asked the area of "Between Alblon RD and Hawthorne RD,and also between Hunt Club RD and Johnston RD", so Greenboro is the part of this area.

Even though you don't belong to the school boundary of Dunlop, you still can go to this school. My neighbour's kid is supposed to go to Robert Bonda this fall, but the parents went to Dunlop directly and asked if it was fine for the kid to study there. Yes, they got the permission.

I know there are some spaces avaiable every year in Lisgar High to accept the students outside the boundary. The parents have to go there and wait there in line before the registration day. This year, there were only around 30 spaces avaiable and more than 30 parents were wating there in cold winter for three nights (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Half of them were Chinese parents. It was very competitive this year since Lisgar had to accept some students from the local area because of the closing of a school nearby. Usually, there were around 100 spaces avaiable.

I have a friend who has a daughter and another friend who has a son, both of the two families live in the Hunt Club area, and their kids are now studying in Lisgar. The kids take bus to school.

Don't get me wrong Sahara snow. I like Greenboro, I just don't like hunt club park. But Greenboro has very few single home listing. There is more choice at Hunt Club Park.
I like to use elementary school grades as one of indicator of the neighbour. Kids are local. If you don’t know somebody live in the area. At least this is the information reflects local community.

At least from the updated infomation, Route 84 does go through Hunt Club Park area.
