50 minutes from hunt club park to leberton. It goes downtown only at rush hour. It takes same amount of time from barrhaven, kanata by express bus.

Don't get me wrong Sahara snow. I like Greenboro, I just don't like hunt club park. But Greenboro has very few single home listing. There is more choice at Hunt Club Park.
I like to use elementary school grades as one of indicator of the neighbour. Kids are local. If you don’t know somebody live in the area. At least this is the information reflects local community.

Speaking the Report Card from the Fraser Institute, I trusted it very much from the beginning, but now I am stucked with the inconsistant result. Here is the case for Katimavik school, it was at the rank of 26 provincial wide on previous result, but this year's result, it ranked at 284 around, because of the previous result, I picked this school for my kid although I work on the East side.
So I am confused with these result, but unfortunately we do not have any more information available to evaluate our schools!!!!

I believe we should look at 5 years average not a single year. Here school is community based they can’t refuse bad student who live in neighborhood. At school there may be 50-80 students per grade; one or two bad student will lower average mark a lot. And at elementary school level, girl mature early, if they have more girl that year, the grade will go up. In Canada system the school difference are not big as china, because of it is community based.
Good information from Fraser report is average parent’s education year. It usually corresponds very well with school rank. This indicates to me it is not school make kids, it is parents. Live in a good community just makes it easier. I use this date to evaluate a community before I buy a house.
I think if a school is at top 20% above 600 should be a good school. A community has average parent’s education above 16 years should be a good place.

As for the neighborhood, people say, if you have a Giant Tiger store near around, then this neighborhood got be bad Don't know if it is true though :lookaround:...

At this moment Brildwood is the best place to buy a house. It is an established neighborhood. The schools are good. There are many houses for sale this year, most of them are new and the price is good.

But nothing is absolute...Timothy's, do you know there is a not-so-great part in Bridlewood based on your parent's education standard?

Nothing is 100 percent. You still have to put your boots on the ground. Every neighborhood has some bad and good. But we are new to this town, at least we have something to use a reference.
I recommand bridlewood because right now it has good value. At 300k you can get a 4 bed 3 bath detached home about 5 years old.There are many homes avalible this year.Schools are good.It has hydro line pass through its northwest corner, little far to 417...
