根据HOME BUYER PLAN只能取90天前存入的RRSP.  请问我能不能在2006年一月用2005年额度一次存入一万元. 3个月后全部取出来买房.

Yes, It should be OK. You need claim those RRSP in 2006 tax year.

如果你不缺钱买房而只是想借用RRSP因为政策允许, 那么你是多此一举, 因为RRSP也
是有投资收益的, 一般也不会差过保守的Mortgage利率.

RRSP doesn't have any interest, but mortgage does.

Say he takes out 20,000 from RRSP, he only needs to put back 20000/15 =1333.33$CAD per year into his RRSP for the next 15 years, which is a lot better than borrowing high interest mortgage with 25 years amotization.
 
well, it got the good side and the bad side.

if your 2006 income is very high, then, the advantages of having HBP is obvious.

A friend of mine, his husband income is 150,000 in 2004 and income tax collected is already 25000. He took all the money into RRSP and take out as HBP. Advantage here is he can claim almost all his income tax collected back. so, additional to the non-tax of the HBP portion, he is also get the income tax return as the pay back of his HBP loan. Very bright idea.

but if your 2006 income is just the normal range, put into RRSP and take out as HBP loan, the advantage is not clear and my opinion is not recommended. HBP is ideal for a long range home buyer, contributed to RRSP for 3-4 years, let it growth, and make it a wise choice.

In your case, you might have your own idea. but explore all your options before you make the decision.

Yes, you can. actually you can buy the amount of 18%x your 2005 income plus $2,000, which is allowable without penalty. But you must be careful to deduct the RSP room from the 18% amount used by your employer in your pension plan, if it is applicable.

Are you sure? In term of interest, you are right. We seldom get interest from RRSP investment. However, we can grow RRSP by earnings (instead of interest), which is generally far more attractive than the interest (even than mortgage rate).
 
RRSP doesnt have interest? well, thats depends on what kinda of vechicle you are riding on.

Couple of my investment grows more than 30% last couple of years*. So, its hard to say.





*Past return doesnt mean will have it in the future.

For average people, take the advantage of HBP. If you are rich, that is the other store.
Use HBP to save money is gurantted (tax free), but the earning of RRSP investment is unknown and need to pay tax when to cash it.

any loss in RRSP investment if have before cash-day will be deducted.

可以,如果1月份买RRSP,90天以HBP取出是没问题的。
因为你是2006年1月份买的RRSP,所以其实你完全可以把你2005的剩余额度以及你2006年将有的额度(当然还有2000免罚款的额度)全部用上来尽量达到2万的HBP最高限度。不过你所用2006年的额度是不可以在报2005年税的时候来抵税的。
同样,你所购买的那些2005年额度的RSP也不一定非要在今年报税的时候全部用来抵税,你是可以累积到今后收入高的年度报来抵税的。

If you mean HBP, you are wrong. We cashed "the growth during the last 90 days" for HBP when we were buying our house.
