Just want to share my thoughts:
Saab is Turbo charged. It is very fun to drive; however keep in mind the maintenance can be very expensive if the turbo module fails. To keep the Turbo module in shape, you have to use the premium gasoline 91+, it is not cheap nowadays. Ex-girl friend drove a 95 Saab, we loved the car, but it suffered two major transmission failures and timing belt broken at around 70K which screwed up the engine, we paid around 12K for the repair. It was a nightmare.
Volvo is more like a family car, safe but no fun, comparing to the Saab, it’s an old man’s car. On the feature sheet it indicates 5cl, I suspect it is turbo-charged as well. Just be careful with the turbo, it can be expensive especially you are buying second-handed.
I have owned 330C, A4 2.8, GLI, these are fine motors, take care of them you will surely be rewarded on the road.
