I got a Sunwing vacation brochure from the FlightCenter in Bayshore. It has a lot of information about hotels in the Caribbean, many in Cuba. In addition to the star rating, it also has individual rating on food, accommodation, beach, pool, entertainment and spa for each resort which I find very useful in selecting a hotel.
There are quite a few places you can go in Cuba, not sure which one you are interested in. We went to Varadero, which is about two hours drive to the capital Havana. I took a bus tour of Varadero once so I had some ideas of the hotels along the route (our hotel is almost the last one along the Varadero peninsula). In general if a hotel is 4-star or above the hotel rooms are clean, the food is safe and the people are very friendly.
Not sure what else you want to know about Cuba? Eating, spending or sightseeing? It is a place I like very much and I will be delighted to offer any help. By the way, I do not work for any travel agency.
