you can take your oath first, and then tell the officer that you lost your maple card, they won't give you the certificate of citizenship. if you can do later like:

1. to apply a new maple card from government first before you go to take your oath
2.to go to see a police to say that you lost your maple card, and try to get a document from them.

sorry i don't quite understand. do u suggest he take teh oath first (without PR card)? or do u suggest he does either 1 or 2?

what would be the consequence. for my case, they didn't know whether i have a pr card or notbefore my oath. if i handed in my landing paper, i could also get the certificate of citizenship i guess?

They will ask you to present a police certificated report for the loss of the PR card.

I think when you attend this ceremony, at the door you will be asked to show your LP, MC and the letter including your personal information to them, at that time, you can tell that you lost your marple card. Then they will tell you, ok, you can take the oath first,but they won't give you the certificate of the citizenship, and send you to a Judger. then she/he will let you know what you should do about this issue later.

1)和CIC打电话,要求延期宣誓
2)同时申请补办MAPLE CARD.

要不就要折腾,人在这里还好点,如果人现在在国内,准备跑两趟吧.

many thanks to all you guys above! still got several questions for my friend, who is in china now:

1. where to go, to apply for certificate proving you lost the maple card, and how long usualy it takes?

2. when taking the test (forgot to tell u guys, he hasn't taken the test yet;((), will he be asked for the maple card ?

my friend just wnat to make one trip, and stay as short time as possible in canada.

先去使馆申请那个回加拿大的纸头吧, 网上说要5-8天, 到那里问问, 不是被偷的就是自己弄丢了, 应该可以以此为理由申请到回加纸, 拿了回加纸就等于移民局承认了你丢枫叶卡的事实. 那个回加纸就是专门给有移民身份但是没有枫叶卡的人的. 移民局内部有了此记录, 到考试和宣誓的时候, 拿不出枫叶卡只拿移民纸和那个回加纸, 实话实说枫叶卡丢了, 反正要宣誓了就不再补办了. 移民局一查记录就都明白了.
