安省共有2850间小学(包括公立、天主教、英语及法语小学)，温哥华的Fraser Institute根据这些学校的小三及小六的EQAO(Education Quality and Accountability Office)的成绩来排名次；EQAO主要是测验学生的读、写及数学能力。共有36间小学名列第一，其中26间位于大多伦多地区。

关于排名

在加拿大，加拿大著名智库Fraser Institute每个几年就提供部分省份的学校排名表，但在安省，负责设计和执行多种省试的教育厅EQAO(Education Quality and Accountability Office)则清楚反对排名，它在2000年发出如下声明：[EQAO并不发出任何教育局和学校排名。这些排名并无用处，并最终会损害教育制度的健康。基于测验结果来为学校排名是反效果的(counter-productive)，因为排名不能告诉我们为什么分数会出现高低，也没有告诉我们可以做些什么来改善。事实上，排名引导人们作出简单化结论，或者作出简单化比较，未能全盘考虑所有影响成绩的因数。]

以上内容我是抄自今天2006年5月30日《明报》附送的2006安省中小学教育年鉴。

我又根据Fraser Institute的网站，把OTTAWA及附近地区8分以上（总分10分）的小学摘录如下，希望没有遗漏（不包括法语学校）。排名是摘录于《明报》附送的[2006安省中小学教育年鉴]中《安省小学排名400强》文章里，分数后面没有排名的学校在《安省小学排名400强》文章里没有出现。

这些内容供各位妈妈参考，切记，仅供参考。

I find something really interesting... and people may think again where to buy their houses in Bridlewood area

W O Michell 's point (7.2) is lower than Bridlewood's (7.5) in 2005...and Bridlewood's trend is up (5.9-7.4-6.6-6.3-7.5) and W O Michell's trend is down (7.7 - 7.5 -8.5-7.0-7.2)...

我觉得还是看历年来的平均成绩吧。我还看到一现象，在Fraser Institute的网站提供的学校评分表中，不难发现在学生父母受教育年数高的学校，各类分数也高。如果房子买在好的学校区，就不用担心花钱送孩子到私立学校了。

学生父母受教育年数 is one of the factor for 评分.

I am not a big fan of 私立学校..I used to work/study with chaps from Eton College, Winchester College...I found some of them were weird

Also, my High School is one of the most prestious schools in China, I am not saying we are weird, but I do have xue zhang like wushuren

But I prefer pre-school 私立 daycare.

这里大部分妈妈们的孩子都还小,最关心的还是day care, 幼儿园和小学,中学的事情就暂时不操这个心了。
