Chinese students cheat a lot during tests, it’s a sad fact. I think cheating on test is more accepted in China. But in Canada you will get kick out of the school if you get caught cheating, so very few people will attempt to cheat.

What’s likely going to happen is you friend will be banned from the school, and this will be on his record.

He can try to setup a meeting with the dean and beg for forgiveness because this is his second time, the chance of him not getting banned isn’t very good.
