For me the film is not that expensive considering the fact that I did not shoot that much. Scanning could be an issue if you don't have the scanner as the store charges $3.00 per slide. So the solution is to buy the scanner.
Film camera: EOS50E. They should have a similar function as the digital version: shutter is not allowed to release unless film loaded. Anyway, it's a low level mistake.
