首先,个人对科学和社会的贡献是建立在前人研究的基础上的。你提到的犹太人的贡献是很大。但是,其他人也做了大量工作。例如,如果没有普朗克提出能量量子化,没有索莫非等人研究光谱学。玻珥能提出氢原子的量子模型吗?洛仑兹在爱因斯坦之前就给出了狭义相对论变换公式,不过还没有找到物理意义上的合理解释。即使没有爱因斯坦,其他人也可能提出狭义相对论。

其次,个人的成就取决于社会环境。如果犹太人不是生活在发达国家,他们能取得这些成就吗?怎么没有听说生活在非洲部落的犹太人做出惊天动地的伟大贡献?怎么没有听说中世纪的犹太人做出惊世骇俗的伟业?

还有,对于未知事物的发现,这样的机会只有一次。如果被别人抢先发现,你就再也没有这样的机会了。在相对论和量子力学大发展时期,二流的科学家可以做出一流的成果。而在没有这样的机会时,一流的人物只能从事二流的工作(某大科学家的言论,可能是开尔文)。而在相对论和量子力学大发展时期,中国正处在内忧外患,面临亡国灭种的危险。举国有几人在从事科学研究?
