刚搬到渥太华，请教换驾照和车牌的事

从别的省搬到安省(渥太华)，我现在知道关于车的事有以下几个：

* 换驾照，换车牌，做尾气检查和安全检查，换车保险。

1) 还有别的要考虑的吗?
2) 办这几件事的顺序是什么?

It's 3 jobs actually. Change the driver license, change the license plate, and update (or change) insurance. I think the order should be:
1. Change the driver license.
2. Change the license plate. If you are not asked to do safty check and polution check for the license plate, just forget it.
3. Insurance, you need above information updated to renew or switch it.

In my opinion, do the safety inspection first, then the e-test. After you get those two certificates you can easily get your Ontario driver licence and plate at the same time. Call your insurance company to make sure your policy/coverage can be transferred.

As I know, in Ontario, it is mandatory to do safety certificate by law when the ownership is transferred (i.e. buy a used car). For e-test (polution), it is required to do it every 2 years after the car is 5 years old. In your case, nowership doesn't change, however it depends on if your car is registered "fit' in SSC. If your car is not so old, e-test may not be needed.
