PROJECT ANALYST
We have an immediate requirement for a Project Analyst. Working on site with the client and senior consultants, the project analyst provides the necessary support in building, maintaining and tracking project plans and schedules. This work includes helping the client create and generate reports, identifying potential schedule issues, tracking costs, and providing forecasts. The project analyst may also attend trade shows, help write proposals and manuals.
This position requires good interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and an interest in working with project management software and a desire to learn new tools and techniques. Bilingual preferred, but not necessary
Necessary Requirements:
Skills:
High degree of tenacity and persistence to get tasks completed on schedule.
Proven track record of demonstrating excellent "client relations".
Excellent and demonstrated written and oral skills. Able to convey ideas and direction through excellent communication and presentation skills to staff and client.
Able to facilitate diverse groups’ interests and bring issues to resolution in compressed time frames.
Able to assess the client’s technical environment to identify need or problem
Able to effectively use change control techniques to define and track changes to the original scope of a project.
Highly organized, possessing premium analytical skills.
Demonstrated hands on experience in project management scheduling tools including Primavera and/or Microsoft Project is essential.
Education:
Post-secondary school education in business, engineering, accounting, computer science related subjects.
Experience:
Work where computer skills applied, client relationships developed, customer service.
Desired Requirements:
Skills:
Able to gather input from diverse sources and distill into comprehensible documents.
Able to create high-level strategies and plans.
Computer-based operational support.
Education:
Project Management training, working towards PMP or similar designation.
Project Management Tools
Experience:
Project team member experience.
Application of MS Office, Internet mail, etc.
Computer-based operations experience.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to a project lead/manager, this position provides a centralized point of contact and establishes a framework to control, manage, and report on a project. The Project Analyst works with a number of technical specialists to control the flow of information, monitor and update changes to the plan as directed by the project lead, understands the detailed issues affecting the progress of work and escalates critical items as appropriate.
Implement and maintain a project plan as per defined guidelines. Major responsibilities include:
Day to day tracking of detailed plan, budget and project staffing levels
Facilitate meetings (Kick-off, status, etc.)
Facilitate financial reporting
Ensure methodology dissemination and compliance.
Co-ordinate and track project deliverables:
Responsible for updating the project timeline on a weekly basis together with the functional leads
Establishes, track and file all project deliverables. Escalate issues affecting deliverables such as slippages, staffing or scope changes
Work as a team member to facilitate deliverables by collecting, assembling, producing, updating, and maintaining PMC documents and deliverables throughout the project.
Produce and distribute Executive, Weekly and ad hoc status reports and presentations.
Assist with the definition, development and implementation of state-of-the-art project management information systems as directed by the Management of the PMC.
Perform other related or project specific duties as assigned by project lead.
