想买一个万用表（digital multimeter），发现有普通的和汽车专用的，价钱差好几倍，请教各位，普通的万用表够用吗，有没有必要买汽车专用的

Auto multimeter

The main different for regular multimeter (apply to both analog, and digital) and auto multimeter is the current, surge voltage, and surge current.

Home multimeter normally cannot handle 1 A current load, while car always use few A of current. It is expansive for any kind of circuit to handle few ampere current. The cable gauge has to be very thick as well.

If you are using the meter for resistant, voltage, diode, capacitance, frequency, temperature, and continuity check, then any multimeter is sufficient
