Carleton University and the Carleton University Academic Staff
Association (CUASA), representing professors, instructors, non-credit
language teachers and professional librarians reached a tentative
agreement early Wednesday morning, November 15. A strike has been
averted and it will be business as usual for Carleton students.
Terms of the agreement will be made public once the agreement is
ratified by both parties.
"We are extremely pleased to have reached a settlement," says Katherine
Graham, Dean of the Faculty of Public Affairs and a member of the
University's negotiating team. "Both parties worked very hard to find a
mutually beneficial agreement that addresses the needs of all
concerned. We are pleased that our students will be able to continue
their studies without disruption."
