Not only the width is smaller, but also the overall diameter is smaller. This will impact the odometer and ABS load also. Do a simple math:
Internal rim diameter: 14" vs 14"
Width: 195 mm vs 185 mm
Wall (65% of the width): 195x0.65= 126.8 mm vs 185x0.65= 120.3 mm
Overall diameter: 14"+2x126.8mm vs 14"+2x120.3mm
Internal rim diameter: 14" vs 14"
Width: 195 mm vs 185 mm
Wall (65% of the width): 195x0.65= 126.8 mm vs 185x0.65= 120.3 mm
Overall diameter: 14"+2x126.8mm vs 14"+2x120.3mm

你说哪？月下。从你的帖子可以看出你是一个乐于助人的人，可没想到这么不能接受别人的不同意见。我跟这个贴是因为我有这方面的经验，所以愿意与大家分享。也不是要显得自己NB，在此＂纸上谈兵＂。那我就说出来与大家分享，我一共配过６辆车的雪胎，其中有５辆买的是Used。第一辆车是９８Ford Taurus with P２０５／６５R１５，当时觉得雪胎宽一点，轮大一点可能好一些，加上２０００年后的 Taurus 都用１６寸轮了，所以做了一番研究，因为当时也有楼上各位这样的Worry。记得好像是CT的网站解释的最详细，比如：轮胎高宽比，Rim的大小变化等的影响。结论是，可以换但要意识到里程表的变化。所以第一辆车雪胎换为Ｐ２２５／６０Ｒ１６。第二辆车是９２Camry V6 with P205/65R15,雪胎换为P215/60R15.第三辆车是96 Windstar with P215/70R15,雪胎换为P205/65R15. 第四辆车是99 Intrepid with P225/60R16, 雪胎换为P205/65R15.
只说月下“发挥了想象力”，就产生如此强烈的“反响”，还真不知道如果当初我没改过来，而直接写上你是“瞎掰”会产生什么样的结果哪。

It is possible -- though not always -- to obtain handling improvements by increasing tire width. Increasing wheel rim diameter and reducing the sidewall height to retain the original diameter can achieve this effect. It results in a wider 'footprint' for improved handling and traction but leaves overall gearing, speedometer and odometer drives unaffected. It is essential that skilled technicians carry out this work, as wheel clearances, suspension operation, load-ratings and turning circles can be seriously affected.
It is vital that the replacement tire have an equal or greater load carrying capacity than the Original Equipment tire and that the overall diameter of the tire/rim of the 'plus-assembly' be nearly the same as the original in order that gear ratios and speedometer readings remain accurate.

When we provide our opinion to other people who want to learn something, we'd better to do it with our best knowledge, especial with the mind of the safety any cost. Insurance compnay would charge more for any modification (include tire size change). If the insurree fails to tell the truth, the claim could be declined. It means you would pay $$$ every month for nothing.
