Hello, I am a graduate student in school of linguistices, and recently I am studyinh applying quantitative method which should belongs to the field of statistics in language studies. I really feel that I need a tutor who is very familar with this research method and can help me better understand and use this quite useful research method.

If you are interested in being my turor of this problem, I would like to pay you 15 dollars per hour. I hope you can give me some specific case studies using this method, and teach me how to use relevant sofeware to conduct data analysis.

Please contact me at 613-829-1918, you can leave voice message. Or email me at danlei_shen@yahoo.com

Thanks a lot!

Mrs. Shen.

Hum, I don't think I'm capable of teaching you, but just for the sake of curiosity, what kind of software do you guys use in linguistics? SPSS? Also where does the datasets come from? cuz in social sciences, basic quantitative research methods classes rely on ISSP international surveys (conducted almost every year in different countries on different topics) because it's really costly and time-consuming to do a survey of our own. And if what you learn in Linguitics is pretty similar to that, I would suggest you taking a quantitative methods class in poli sci, journailism or communications departments. Since you are a graduate student and I assume you're already paying fulltime tuition fee and can take as many courses you want, it really doesn't make sense to me why you need to pay extra money for tutors instead of taking full advantage of the intellectual resources available at Carleton. Well, just a suggestion.~
