I never said i was correct. But you have no rights to tell me to shut up.
Rual is never a top class striker. He seldom scores more than 20 goals a season. In Spain, if you are top class, you should at leat score 25 goals. Look what Vieri and Ronaldo did. Vieri only played there for one season, he scored 26 goals on 24 appearence. Ronaldo can score 30 goals a season if he is healthy. You can also look at who is the leading scorer inthe recent seasons. Both Kanout and Forlan can not get a startup place in EP. In such an easy league, Rual still cannot score very often. I don't think he can succeed anywhere else. In fact, does any striker from Spain except R9 and Vieri ever succeeded in Italy or England?
The problem for Rual is not he would accept any position. He should not get a position at all on the pitch. Be it second striker or midfielder. We have Robinho, Reyes and even Cassano has more to offer. Not to mention he caused Ronaldo's departure.
Yes, Rual is still the leading scorer in the history of champions league. But it takes him almost twice the games to maintain that record. Shev, Van Nistelrooy, Inzachi and Piero all close to him by just attending half number of the games as he did. There is a huge difference between the top strikers and Raul. I must say he is the most oevrrated players in the recent decade. Fortunately Spain no longer rely on him. He was not a starter for Spain in the world cup 2006. Villa and Torres stepped out.
He is still a good player though, but no good enough to play for Real. He should have left 2-3 years ago. But he can still make the right decision at the end of the season and be remembered as a hero. You must know when to quit and quit with style.
