我的IE总是打不开,重装了系统也没用。好麻烦啊。有没有高手能教一下啊。
I know my problem sounds stupid, but..., I just have no idea how to deal with this.

use firefox

Yeah,I'm using firefox now, but my default web browser is IE. Do you know how to make firefox as the default one? Then I won't bother about the IE thing.

Another problem is:once I start my computer, a small window will pop up with the folowing on it:

"The instruction at "0x00805597" referenced memory at "0x00005deb". The memory could not be written. Click on OK to terminate the program. Click on CANCEL to debug the program."

no matter I click OK or CANCEL, the computer will get restarted. After restart, the little windor pop up again. It's just again and again and again, so annoying! Any one know what happen on this? I just bought this computer 1 year ago.

This is from :http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/memory-could-not-written-t4911.html

The instruction at "0x01b03397" refrenced memory at "0x00000000" the memory cant be "written"
after getting into many forums reading many threads i found out the reason of this d*** error msg
and how to solve the problem ...

be happy guys its solved by me wink.gif .. first let me add
my pc spec
i'm using win xp build 2600 sp2
intel p4 3ghz
512mb ram
geforce fx5600

the main reason i started getting this error msg was the time i updated to sp2, so here is how i get
rid of this d*** error msg.
step 1 : check out system properties -------->advanced------->performance---------->DEP (Data Execution Prevention) if its on then its the main cause of ur problem if not... then ur not lucky as i am.

step 2 : how to disable this d*** thing , its not easy though but i could handle it
first make a system disk if u dont have one already with attrib.exe file and edit app running
from dos coz u wont be able to edit the file which has the problem in it in windows.

step 3 : the file we are looking for is boot.ini which is located at c:\ the main dir of ur booting hard-disk

step 4 : startup (boot) from the system disk u made then do these commands
1. attrib -r -h -s c:\boot.ini "remove the hidden,read only, system properties from file"
2. copy c:\boot.ini boot.bak "back-up the boot.ini file"
3. edit c:\boot.ini "now here where we should start adding the option to disable DEP"
in file u will see --->
[boot loader]
timeout=4
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /NoExecute=Optin
C:\ = "Microsoft Windows"

the only command we want to change is the /NoExecute option
change the /NoExecute=Optin to /NoExecute=AlwaysOff
now just exit when prompt to save the edited file just select YES

step 5 : change attribs back to normal by this commanmd
attrib +h +r +s c:\boot.ini

step 6 : restart windows normally and i hope u get rid of this d*** thing i was havin too smile.gif

any questions about these step feel free to drop me email at shist666@hotmail.com

regards , and good luck everybody

Yeah,I'm using firefox now, but my default web browser is IE. Do you know how to make firefox as the default one? Then I won't bother about the IE thing.

Force Firefox to make itself the default
If Firefox already thinks that it is default, exit Firefox completely, go to "Start Menu -> Run" and enter this into the text box:

firefox.exe -silent -nosplash -setDefaultBrowser
[edit]Setting default browser manually
Windows Vista: "Start -> Default Programs -> Set Program Access and Computer Defaults -> Custom" [2]

Windows 2000 and Windows XP: "Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Set Program Access and Defaults -> Custom" (available in Windows 2000 SP3 and later and Windows XP SP1 and later releases [3]).

After expanding the "Custom" category, you will see Internet Explorer and other installed browsers listed under "Choose a default Web browser". Select "Mozilla" (Suite), "SeaMonkey" or "Mozilla Firefox" (in some cases, "Mozilla Firefox" may not be listed; to add it back, reinstall Firefox [4]).

If the above doesn't work or if the "Set Program Access and Defaults" feature isn't available in your Windows version, you can manually set the default browser as follows, in Windows XP or earlier:

In Windows XP using the Control Panel "Category View", click on "Performance and Maintenance". Then, click on "File Types" in the left column under the heading "See Also".
In Windows Control Panel or if Windows XP is using the Control Panel "Classic View", click on "Folder Options -> File Types".
Assign the following file types to the browser you wish to set as default:

URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol
URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy
URL:File Transfer Protocol
HTML File
HTM File (optional)

Method 1: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x Repair for Windows XP

From the Start menu, select Run.
In the Open field, type sfc /scannow (Note: There is a space between sfc and /scannow)
Select the OK button.
Follow the prompts throughout the System File Checker process.
Reboot the computer when System File Checker completes.
Method 2: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x Repair for Windows XP

From the Start menu, select Search, select All Files and Folders.
Select More Advanced Options and place a checkmark beside Search Hidden Files and Folders option.
Ensure that Search System Folders and Search Subfolders are also checked.
In the All or Part of the File Name box, type ie.inf
In the Look In drop-down menu, select C: or the letter of the hard drive that contains the Windows folder.
Click the Search button.
In the search results pane, find the ie.inf file located in Windows\Inf folder.
Right click the ie.inf file and click Install on the context menu.
Reboot the computer when the file copy process is complete.

Not working at all.Now it got big prob. can't even start the window. I've sent it to futureshop. I'm still in 2yrs' warranty period, but they said they will charge me $60 for doing the recovery and backup. Sooo expensive. I've paid for the warranty already!
