自己建deck

打算自己建deck，请问各位做过deck的专家，我的房子最外层是砖墙(brick veneer)，deck的高度离foundation concrete距离大约4‘左右，我应该做成attached的 还是free standing的？如果是attached的，如何固定ledger？据说brick veneer没有太大的承重力。

If it is only 4" higer the ledger could still be fixed on concrete foundation. then 2x4 could be put on top of the ledger not on side of it. or just put another piece of ledger on top of the lower ledger b but don't fix it with wall but use hardware to link with blow ledger.

But I think DIY free standing is better. Because if something goes wrong only the deck will have the problem.

Hi, my one is 4 feet or 4 inches high. So I am going to build it as free standing. Thanks for your reply.
